Overview

Advantech Wireless family of 8000 Series VSAT terminals are the most powerful economical terminals available for HTS GEO constellations as well as traditional satellite systems.

These terminals are able to transmit in MF-TDMA, BM-FDMA, or DVB-S2/S2X mode and receive DVB-S2/S2X waveforms.

The 8000 Series terminal design is an evolution of our previous generation of terminals including the significant increase in the transponder bandwidths supported for the forward link and the integration of the modem, BUC and LNB functionality into one outdoor unit as shown above.

The complete outdoor terminal including its size and weight reduction is a game changer. The terminal requires a single Ethernet connection to the indoor equipment easing installation.

Supporting MF-TDMA, BM-FDMA, and DVB-S2/S2X adds greater transmit waveform flexibility, affording the end-user greater trade-off flexibility. The software-defined modem adds the ability to switch from burst MF-TDMA to continuous carrier DVB-S2/S2X transmission. This multi-waveform capability provides the user with flexibility to transition between the bandwidth-assignment flexibility of DVB-RCS/RCS2 and the unrivalled physical performance of DVB-S2/S2X transmissions.

The terminal has been designed with all key IP features to fulfill the needs of a consumer, enterprise or government user. Overview

The SSPB-3010KaTM series are hub-mount up-converter transmitters, operating in the Ka-Band. The SSPB-3010KaTM is an integrated unit, complete with power supply, phase-locked oscillator, mixer, filter and cooling mechanism.  Intended for outdoor operation, the SSPB-3010KaTM provides the utmost in convenience and efficiency. Other SSPB’s are also available for higher powers or for operation at other up-link frequencies.

 

Application

The SSPB-3010KaTM systems are designed for Ka-Band satellite up-link applications. They are mounted outdoors, near the hub of an antenna. Also available from Advantech Wireless are the SSPA series – solid-state high power amplifiers – with all the features of the SSPB’s except block up-converter. Overview

The HP range of Advantech Wireless frequency converters uses the latest technology in conversion, local and remote control thus providing the ultimate in performance and user friendly operation at a very competitive price.

The spectral purity, low phase noise and stability exceed the requirements of all major international satellite network operators.

The flexible and comprehensive monitor and control features on the HP converter ensure that it will fit into any network management system architecture. The user-friendly front panel or the RS485 remote interface will provide full set-up and fault monitoring facilities.  The RS232 will provide the Monitor and Control functions via a PC and will also allow for software downloading.

The converter is fully synthesized with the PLL oscillator either locked to a highly stable internal 10 MHz reference or if the external 10 MHz reference signal with proper power level is present, the PLL will automatically lock to the external reference.

Application

The Front End ARWF-LX unit can be used for SCPC, DAMA and TDMA as well as full transponder HDTV and traditional analog TV. The lightweight, rugged and compact design also ensures that the HP converter provides the ideal solution for mobile truck or flyaway DSNG systems. With fully welded aluminum chassis and robust modular internal construction the converter can even meet the demands of military installations. The HP range of converters provides an industry leading MTBF of over 120,000 hours.

Redundancy

For customers requiring redundancy Advantech Wireless can provide 1:1, 1:2 and 1:N (up to 12) solutions. The 1:N redundancy is provided by the additional external 1:N Controller and Switch Panel. Each Switch Panel can handle up to four (4) converter units. A 1:12 system requires one Controller panel plus three Switch Panels. A complete 1:12 complete system occupies a space of 17U. Overview

Overview

The IPOINT-S2TM Auto-Acquisition Antenna Controller is designed as an OEM product for satellite communication system providers or antenna manufacturers and can be supplied in a configuration to suit most antennas. It uses a sophisticated pattern recognition algorithm to confirm and refine its heading information using visible satellites. The method used to search for and identify satellites is easily configured by the system integrator optimizing satellite acquisition for the user’s specific environment.

Support for industry standard position transducers and versatile configuration options allow the IPOINT-S2TM to be integrated on to most antennas regardless of geometry, drive rate, and transducer resolution. Multiple stow methods are supported, including a fourth axis. The controller is mounted on the antenna structure negating the need for long cable runs. A separate power supply and control panel are located in a rack mount unit for mounting within the equipment area.

Overview

The SSPBg-210CTM series are hub-mount up-converter transmitters, using GaN Technology, operating in the C-Band. The SSPBg-210CTM is an integrated unit, complete with power supply, phase-locked oscillator, mixer, filter and cooling mechanism. Intended for outdoor operation, the SSPBg-210CTM provides the utmost in convenience and efficiency. Other SSPBs are also available for higher powers or for operation at other up-link frequencies.

The hub-mount SSPBg-210CTM is constructed in a compact cooling enclosure for outdoor operation. The units are weatherproof. They are the smallest fully integrated units on the market today.

Application
